Education Projects

At African Relief Fund we believe that education is a key to eradicate illiteracy and unlock opportunities for families who cannot afford to send their children to school. It also raises their capacity to find solutions to the problems they are facing. We focussed in building schools, training teachers, midwifes and skills.

  • Schools:  We have established 63 schools across Somalia, where more than 20,000 students are enrolled so far. We are anticipating increasing the net enrolment ratio of students in primary and secondary schools with the help of the government to achieve universal education for all children.

  • Teacher training: Since the collapse of the central Somali government, most of the formal institutions had collapsed as result. We, at ARF, have identified the need to rehabilitate local teachers who have not been able to attain formal education training for many years. We have conducted and sponsored several teacher training programs in Mogadishu, Bosaso (Puntland region) and in Hargeisa (Somaliland region). We are planning to train 100 secondary school teachers to to improve their teaching capacity and performance quality in schools across Somalia.
